The first day of Summer has arrived!! Needless to say, the HOT weather came with it! and so did dehydration. 😦
strawberry & blueberry infused water
I normally end up drinking about 4 cups of water at work and another 2-4 at home, but I do it because I know I have to, not because I want to. I ran across LC’s blog the other day and she reminded me about how to add a little pizzaz to water. I had some strawberries and blueberries from my Farm Fresh to You batch, and decided it was time to use these fresh babies up! I washed and sliced up the strawberries in to large matchstick type pieces, thin enough to get in through the bottleneck, and threw the blueberries in whole. Shook it up a little bit, and let it sit in the refridgerator for about 30 mins to get a little flavor, before trying the refreshing beauty!
It’s been a berry refreshing wonder drinking this for the past couple hours. Great tasty way to hydrate while I’m out tending to my little vegetable/herb garden.
I tried to start one last year, but was unsuccessful, so I was determined this year to get it right. I started a little late in the game for seedlings, so I stopped by Whole Foods and Lowe’s to get things started.
patio garden
This here, is the beginning of my little bite sized garden. I can’t wait until they start fruiting!
1st row: Italian Parsley, Marvel Striped tomatoes, Golden Nugget tomatoes, Padron Peppers
2nd row: Basil, Prudence Purple tomatoes, Golden California Wonder bell peppers
3rd row: Greek Oregano, French Thyme, Summer Squash, Eggplant & Rosemary
Independent pots: Thyme (above) & Spearmint (below)
They’re a little cramped, but I plan to move them into less crowded residences, soon 😀
